Classroom Instruction
Summer sessions are very fast paced and require a tremendous amount of dedication.

All students must sign up for 5 one-hour Behind-The-Wheel (BTW) driving sessions.  These drive times are not part of the 34 hour classroom instruction.
*BTW drives are offered during school, immediately after school (Pick up at EHS offered) and Saturdays.
1 hour of observing another student during his/her BTW drive lesson.

  • Students must be 15 years of age by the first day of the enrolled driver education program.
  • Teens must have their permit by their first behind-the-wheel drive session (or by the first week of school).
  • If under 15 1/2 years of age, a Permit Waiver is required to obtain an Instruction Permit: A Permit Waiver is an electronic form issued by our driving school that allows your teen, at 15 years old or older, to obtain his/her permit, from the Department of Licensing, without taking the Department of Licensing Knowledge Test, as long as he/she is enrolled in a Driver Education Course.
  • We REQUIRE all enrollment paperwork to be completed, turned in and a payment to have been made PRIOR to a waiver being issued.
  • Per Washington State regulations we can not issue a permit waiver more than 10 days prior to the start of a course session.
  • After enrolling in our course you and your student must Pre-apply online to obtain your students PIC number (permit number). In order for us to issue your student a permit waiver you must contact us and provide us with your students PIC number prior to visiting the Department of Licensing.

  • Go to www.dol.wa.gov for information on your local DOL office hours and locations.

Participating in a traffic safety education course is a HUGE time commitment. Make sure that you and your teen are able to dedicate the time necessary to complete the course before enrolling. Our course is an 7 week course with the classroom phase meeting twice a week. Classroom attendance is MANDATORY. Excessive tardiness may result in course failure. (Click this Parent-Student Handbook link for details.)

Our Washington State Certified Course is a pass/fail course. Both the classroom phase and the Behind-The-Wheel phase must be completed successfully in order to receive a "pass" grade and receive a certificate. Grading is based on the following:
  • Participation
  • In-Class worksheets/Quizzes
  • Module Exams
  • Homework
  • Final Exam
  • Behind-The-Wheel performance
